Collection: arrangements

For special occasions, for you. A generous and fresh arrangement of the best flowers I have available from what I grow with tender care in my small growing area.

Flower availability: From January through May my primary flowers are tulips. Starting mid to late March I will have bits of greenery and other flowers (daffodils, anemones, hellebores, earliest sweet pea) to include. I may, as needed, supplement with flowers from other local growers. I do not use imported or flown flowers.

A note on vase life: different flowers will last longer or not as long. Tulips last fairly long--unless they are in a very warm spot in which case they will open quickly. Dahlias are special and exquisite. They do not have a long vase life and are best as event flowers or for short-term enjoyment. Some roses last a day or two but are so lovely and so delicious smelling I love to include them.  Some peonies last longer than others. Bearded iris can be enjoyed over a longer period of time--if you remove spent flowers.  Mums and Lisianthus are special and have a long vase life. I try my best to provide a balance of the most special with some flowers that will last longer.

I cut and condition my flowers for the longest vase life possible without using artificial sprays, etc. Flowers will last longest in a cool spot in your house out of direct light and heat. Remove the shorter-lived flowers from your arrangement as they fade and enjoy your arrangement as it matures in the vase.

For delivery: If you will not be home to receive the flowers  in person, I need to be able to leave them in a sheltered place out of cold, rain or heat. We can arrange a time.
